Does It Take 7 Years To Heal Sexual Abuse?

Dr. Drew (Drew Pinsky, MD) did a show on TV last night on sexual abuse and the innformation provided was worse than useless. Pinsky, who holds himself out as an addictions specialist, suddenly saw himself as an abuse specialist when he described how the abuse victim's brain "walls off one part of the person from the rest". Really? Where is the evidence for that theory? He also agreed with one of his guests, a sex offender himself, who said that it takes about 7 years to recover from molestation.
